Summer in Steamboat Springs


Any summertime visitor will recognize the importance of the Yampa River to locals and visitors alike. From kayaking in the spring runoff, bicycle riding along the Yampa River Core Trail, fly fishing and river tubing, the river has so much to offer everyone.

One of the most popular summertime activities suitable for all the family is tubing on the Yampa River.

What could be more relaxing on a hot summer day than floating on a tube down the Yampa River through beautiful Steamboat Springs? Well not much, it doesn’t get any better than this!

Fun, affordable and suitable for all the family, come and experience your river adventure with tube rentals from us.

Our tube rentals consist of a 2 mile float down river from our store, (located just steps from the river), life vests and a shuttle pick up to return you to your starting point afterwards. We have the biggest, most comfortable tubes in town, all equipped with a full nylon cover and suspended seat to keep your more vulnerable appendages from being scraped on the rocks and mini rapids that make up your river ride.

The river has been separated into zones by the City of Steamboat Springs in conjunction with the Colorado Division of Wildlife to give every user group a share of this wonderful resource. Rental tubing is only allowed downstream from 5th Street bridge, whilst private tubers are encouraged to float from no further than Fetcher park so leaving the quieter upper stretch of river open for the fisherman.

In an effort to keep the river from becoming overcrowded, part of this management plan includes a limit on the number of trips the commercial tubing companies (i.e. us!) are allowed each day, so it is important to reserve your spot on the river to avoid being disappointed.

We also cater to those who want to go it alone with a large selection of floatation craft for sale, with prices to suit any budget.
